News from the Library: September 2017

The Summer Reading Challenge has been a great success this year. We had three events on the theme of Animal Agents. Malcolm’s Cartoon Workshop filled the library to maximum capacity. I am sure he will have inspired some young artist. If you have signed up for the reading challenge, you still have a couple of weeks left to read your six books and collect your medal and certificate. Pop in straight from school on a Tuesday or Thursday.
Next date for your diary is Apple Day! This year the Friends of the Library will be joining with the Congregational Church on 23 September. They will be contributing to stalls and holding a book sale. Please leave any donations at the library during opening hours. September’s collection of apple-themed books will hopefully give you some inspiration for pickling and preserving.
There won’t be a Story Time in September – the next one will be 2 October.
